Responsible Gaming
Version: 1.0 | Last Updated: 30 July 2026
At Crownplay, we believe that gambling should be a form of entertainment — enjoyable, controlled, and conducted safely. We are deeply committed to promoting responsible gaming practices and to providing our Players with the tools and information they need to stay in control. This page forms part of our wider compliance framework and should be read alongside our Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.
If you believe your gambling is no longer under control, please make use of the tools below or contact one of the support organisations listed in Section 6 immediately.
1. Our Commitment
1.1 Responsible Gaming as a Core Value
Responsible gaming is not simply a regulatory obligation for Crownplay — it is a fundamental part of our operating philosophy. We recognise that while the vast majority of our Players enjoy gambling as a recreational activity, a minority may develop problematic gambling habits. We take our duty of care to all Players seriously and are actively committed to minimising gambling-related harm.
1.2 Our Commitments to You
In delivering on this commitment, Crownplay pledges to:
- Provide clear, accurate, and accessible information about the risks associated with gambling;
- Offer a comprehensive suite of Player protection tools that are easy to access and activate;
- Train our customer support team to identify and sensitively respond to signs of problem gambling;
- Prevent access to our Services by minors through robust age verification procedures;
- Cooperate with recognised responsible gaming organisations and support services;
- Continuously review and improve our responsible gaming policies, tools, and practices.
2. Recognising Problem Gambling
2.1 Warning Signs
Problem gambling can develop gradually and may not always be immediately apparent. Please review the following checklist honestly. If you answer “Yes” to one or more of these questions, you may benefit from seeking support:
- ☐ Do you spend more money on gambling than you originally intended?
- ☐ Do you gamble to escape stress, anxiety, depression, or other negative emotions?
- ☐ Have you ever borrowed money or sold possessions in order to fund your gambling?
- ☐ Do you feel restless, irritable, or anxious when you attempt to cut back or stop gambling?
- ☐ Have you tried and failed to reduce, control, or stop your gambling?
- ☐ Do you find yourself spending increasing amounts of time or money on gambling to get the same level of excitement?
- ☐ Have you lied to family members, friends, or colleagues about the extent of your gambling?
- ☐ Has your gambling negatively affected your work, studies, relationships, or financial situation?
- ☐ Do you return to gambling shortly after losing, in an attempt to recover your losses (“chasing losses”)?
- ☐ Do you feel a loss of control over how much time or money you spend gambling?
If any of these statements resonate with you, we encourage you to make use of our Player protection tools or reach out to one of the support organisations listed in Section 6 of this page.
3. Player Protection Tools
3.1 Deposit Limits
You can set limits on the amount of money you are permitted to deposit into your Account over a defined period:
- Daily deposit limit;
- Weekly deposit limit;
- Monthly deposit limit.
Deposit limits take effect immediately when set. Requests to increase a deposit limit are subject to a mandatory 7-day cooling-off period before taking effect. Reductions take effect immediately.
3.2 Loss Limits
You may set a maximum net loss amount over a specified period (daily, weekly, or monthly). Once your loss limit has been reached, no further bets will be accepted until the limit period resets. Increases to loss limits are subject to the same 7-day cooling-off period.
3.3 Session Time Limits
You may set a maximum continuous session duration. Once the time limit is reached, you will be automatically logged out of your Account. A reminder notification will be displayed when you are approaching your session limit.
3.4 Reality Checks
You may configure periodic reality check notifications that remind you of the time and money you have spent during your current gaming session. These reminders appear as pop-up notifications at intervals of your choosing (e.g., every 30, 60, or 90 minutes).
3.5 Cooling-Off Period
A cooling-off period is a temporary break from gambling. You may request a cooling-off period of between 24 hours and 6 weeks. During a cooling-off period:
- You will not be able to log in to your Account or place any bets;
- You will not receive any marketing or promotional communications;
- The cooling-off period cannot be cancelled or shortened once activated.
3.6 Self-Exclusion
Self-exclusion is a more permanent measure for Players who feel they need a longer break from gambling. You may self-exclude for a minimum period of 6 months up to a permanent self-exclusion. To request self-exclusion, contact our support team at [email protected].
During a self-exclusion period:
- Your Account will be suspended and access blocked;
- Any Bonus Funds in your Account will be forfeited;
- Remaining Real Money Balances will be refunded subject to standard KYC and withdrawal procedures;
- All marketing communications to you will be suppressed;
- Self-exclusions cannot be reversed until the minimum exclusion period has expired, and only following a mandatory reflection period and a formal request to reinstate the Account.
We also strongly recommend that self-excluding Players register with national self-exclusion programmes where available in their jurisdiction.
3.7 How to Access These Tools
All Player protection tools can be accessed via the Responsible Gaming section of your Account dashboard. Alternatively, our support team is available 24/7 to assist you in activating any of these measures. Contact us at [email protected].
4. Tips for Responsible Gambling
4.1 Practical Guidelines
The following guidelines will help you maintain a healthy and enjoyable gambling experience:
- Set a budget before you play and stick to it. Never gamble with money you cannot afford to lose.
- Treat gambling as entertainment, not as a source of income or a way to solve financial problems.
- Set time limits before starting a gaming session and respect them.
- Do not chase losses. Attempting to recover losses by betting more rarely works and can escalate harmful behaviour.
- Take regular breaks. Step away from the screen at regular intervals.
- Avoid gambling when emotional. Do not gamble when you are stressed, depressed, intoxicated, or under pressure.
- Balance gambling with other leisure activities. Gambling should be one of many forms of entertainment in your life.
- Stay informed. Understand the rules of the games you play and the statistical house edge involved.
- Never gamble under the influence of alcohol or other substances that may impair your judgement.
5. Protection of Minors
5.1 Age Verification
Our Services are strictly prohibited for individuals under the age of 21. We implement mandatory age verification as part of our registration and KYC process. No Player will be permitted to deposit or play without satisfactory proof of age.
5.2 Parental Controls
We strongly encourage parents and guardians to take active steps to prevent minors from accessing online gambling services. The following measures are recommended:
- Never share your Account login credentials with any other person, including family members;
- Log out of your Account and close the browser when your device is unattended;
- Install reputable parental control and web filtering software on shared devices. Examples include:
If you suspect that a minor has accessed or registered on our Website, please contact us immediately at [email protected].
